When the drinks start to roll out, then you know it’s Summer.

Sooo . . . It’s 175 degrees here in Georgia, and all I can think about is getting my drink on. Yep, getting cool-off by something fresh, fruity and relaxing is a great way to settle down after a rough day at work. And from what I hear, the “High Key Wine Pouches,” is a way to go to capture those smooth Summer evening dreams. Yes sir, as Bustle reports, “These individual pouches of boozy joy are basically an adult juice box.” And with the various flavor options of Sweet White, Dry Rose and Semi-Sweet Rose, these little wine pouches come with a punch of 12% ABV.

Now, the mission of High Key Wine Co. is to . . .

“Create great wine in innovative packaging that speaks to our valued customers.”

And for the price of $19.98 for a pack of three, I see nothing but good for these “hot” long and I do mean . . . longggg Summer days. If you want to get your drink on, then check out the “High Key Wine” website to get your “order” on (Yeah I know it’s a bit corny, but it rhymed). Other than that . . . Happy Friday!!

Hey fam,

Many of you know that I’m a caregiver for my Mom. It’s an amazing ride this caregiver thing. Sometimes it’s okay other times it’s demanding. Our latest thing is her hearing. She has no idea how loud the television is. To be honest, I find myself adjusting to the volume and I don’t notice how loud anything is until she’s left the room and I decide to turn it down. On a scale of 0-100 Mom usually has it on a 70.he

Usually, when she leaves the room, I turn off the volume because she is going into her room and watching the same thing I’m watching. I can hear it in my room crystal clear. First, she fought me about the volume saying it wasn’t loud. I decided to just buy her a headset so she could have it as loud as she wanted but it wouldn’t hurt my hearing. Well, that lasted about 6 mos. Next thing I knew they were broken.

She still didn’t believe that she had a hearing problem until I made her see an audiologist. Luckily, there was an ENT in the office too. The ENT (ear, nose, throat) checked her ears and found some wax and removed it. When the audiologist did the test she went over the results. Basically, she told Mom she needed hearing aids. It felt good to have someone else tell her she can’t hear.

So now we are trying all sorts of hearing aids. She’s trying the “Nano” which I found on television. Allegedly it’s the same as any other hearing device yet cheaper. After hearing how expensive they are, I understand why folks her age don’t buy the set.

I say all of this because, as an advocate/caregiver/family member you do for them the same way they did for you. Just remember, they remember the tricks they used on us and vice versa. That should make it that much more interesting when all is said and done. Oh yeah, I bought her another set of headphones and say a prayer that these hearing aids work.

Hey fam,

A while back, SZA took to Twitter to tell what happened to her in Sephora. For those that don’t know, SZA tweeted about how she was treated and security was involved. You know “shopping while Black”. She was just trying to get her “Fenty” beauty on. When Rhianna found out about this she sent her a gift card to get her shop on in peace.

Sephora tried to apologize about what happened but they felt it landed on deaf ears. They have decided to take a page out of “Starbucks” playbook. You know, how to look at Black folks without showing that you think they are stealing something. I find this interesting since the incident happened at the beginning of the month and it’s not until now that this was their way of resolving the situation. I have a feeling it has something to do with not only was the company on blast, but the owner of the makeup line was also the person that ended up resolving this.

Although the store calls themselves doing something about this, but are they really. Sure they are shutting down for this training but let’s look at the beginning of this. Why did security listen to this employee? Did she say she actually saw SZA taking something or did she just assume? My guess is no but she assumed it, so that made it so. I used to do retail security and although each company is different, I learned that if you didn’t see it, it didn’t happen, unless it was captured on video. Add that to, if they got away with it they will come back and try again. Sephora needs to learn this. Meanwhile, they were watching SZA and I betcha a few things walked out the door while they “talked to” her too. I’m just saying

Fam, tell me what you think of this.

Although some of the hype has calm down in regards to this whole “college scandal” thingy, it appears as if one of the kids of the accused folks . . . (Lori and Mossimo) . . . knew about the bride from the jump and “didn’t care”.

Yes sir, as PageSix reports, daughter Olivia Jade Giannullifully” knew that her parents brided to get her into college. And a source told US Weekly, the following . . .

“Olivia fully knew what her parents did to get her into USC, but didn’t think there was anything wrong with it. She didn’t get into any other California schools.”

Now both parents Lori Loughlin (Actress) and Mossimo Giannulli (Designer) are being accused of paying at least $500,000 to get both of their daughters into the university, and has pleaded “not guilty” to charges of  “wire fraud and money laundering conspiracy“.

What’s funny about this story is that the source states, Olivia Jade “reportedly” wants to return back to USC since she technically “didn’t get officially kicked out.”

“She wants to come out looking like she’s changed, learned life lessons and is growing as a person, so she for sure wants people to think she is interested in her education.”

Ummm, yeah . . . Olivia, dear . . . girl . . . you really didn’t get into USC, remember?  This is why your parents are in trouble and is now possibly facing some type of jail time. I hear that California have some great Community Colleges or Technical schools you may want to look into. The choices are endless What?! I’m just throwing that out there is all.

Anywhoozle, I’m sure you gonna’ figure it out one day. If not . . . Happy Tuesday.

We at “I’m Simply Saying” are saying “Thank You” to the men, women, and dogs

that gave the ultimate sacrifice to this country. Gone but never forgotten!
